ABOUT CASEY

Hi! I’m Casey and I am a professional photographer in Orange County, California. I live in Laguna Hills with my loving husband and we have two adorable children together along with a very grumpy welsh corgi. I work full time as a project manager at a civil engineering firm in Irvine and my husband is a stay at home dad.

Our family mostly enjoys staying at home where we play board games, make arts and crafts, brew beer or make cookies. But, we also love going to Disneyland! Whether we are riding rides, meeting characters, or eating snacks, the parks are so magical for us!

Photography is my main passion! But, everyone would probably say I have a bit of a crafting addiction. I just love finding new ways to be creative! I also enjoy working out on my Myx exercise bike, listening to true crime podcasts, or watching TV.

MY PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE

I am a natural light photographer specializing in families and kids. But, I love to work with couples and individuals seeking an updated head shot. My style of photography is considered lifestyle and documentary which means your photography session will generally consist of gently posed photos and beautiful candid moments.

MY WHY

Photography for me is so important because it lets me capture my family’s everyday life. My passion for it began when I was pregnant with my son and my drive to capture all those cute baby details – his toes, dimpled fingers, playtime, and cuddles with family. Additionally, as a working mom, I feel like I am always trying to maintain that perfect work/life balance. Life is so fast paced and my kids are growing up so quickly but I also want to make time for myself and my desire to be creative. I love that photography can do both for me! I can connect with my family and capture memories and fulfill my urge to create things.

3 FUN FACTS

My family loves to travel! My favorite part is planning out all the details. I will spend way too much time on travels sites researching excursions and the top sights to see. So far, our favorite vacation was to Peru to see Lima, Cusco and most of all, Machu Picchu. It was breathtaking and amazing to see in person. It is one of those places where the photos literally do not do it justice. I would love to be able to see all of the seven wonders of the world!

I was a very competitive soccer player as a kid and throughout high school. It is still my all time favorite sport! But, I hated running long distances and always tried to get out of it at practices. So you can imagine my family’s surprise when I signed up to run a full marathon. I completed the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon in 2011. It was so hard to complete but the experience was truly rewarding. And now, I have a love for running!

I majored in civil engineering in college at Cal Poly Pomona. I love science and math and when I chose that major, I envisioned myself designing bridges and freeways. After my first structural class, I decided that emphasis was not for me. So I changed my focus to environmental and never looked back. I love my job and I get to design pipelines and storage tanks that support my community. It is not as fancy as a bridge, but it is important!
